As everyone knows, with the coronavirus pandemic and the need to quarantine, there has long been a run on toilet paper, and people are concerned about whether they will have enough to last until …? I’m not sure how one determines what the end date might be, as far as when there will no longer be a supply shortage. And, for the record, I’m not a hoarder, I’m just dealing with the supply that I already had on hand.

But, if this topic concerns you, there’s a new handy “toilet paper calculator” that will help you determine how long your current supply of toilet paper rolls will last. Just enter the number of rolls that you have, an estimate of how many “toilet visits per day,” and you will get your suggested time frame of coverage.

Below we have an etching titled “The Toilet of Venus,” 1784, by the French artist Jean Jacques Lagrenée, from the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Look how much “help” Venus had when she visited her bathroom … a total of 6 people to assist her with this process! I don’t see any toilet paper in the picture (obviously), but there’s a lot of vessels to assist with the process.
