I was walking around the west side of Manhattan, and took a photograph of this sculpture in an outdoor park area. It wasn’t until I got home and took a second look that I realized that this sculpture is based on Sandro Botticelli’s painting “The Birth of Venus,” (c. 1484–1486) which is in the collection of The Uffizi in Florence, Italy.
